2007 Emission Standards
On December 21, 2000 the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) signed emission standards for model year 2007 and later heavy-duty highway engines. The California Air Resources Board (ARB) adopted virtually identical 2007 heavy-duty engine standards in October 2001, and Environment Canada has also adopted EPA standards. http://www.epa.gov/air/urbanair/6poll.html Cummins Westport Engine Availability In January 2007, the entire current product line will be certified 2007 U.S. EPA compliant. Since 2001, all Cummins Westport engines have met the U.S. EPA 2007 regulation of Particulate Matter (PM) with an oxidation catalyst. In the second quarter of 2007, the ISL G engine, certified to U.S. EPA 2010 emissions levels (0.2g/bhp-hr NOx), will be introduced to the North American market. C Gas Plus and L Gas Plus engines will be phased out of North America as comparable ISL G ratings are released through 2007. The 2007 U.S. EPA certified B Gas Plus and B LPG Plus engines will continue to be available in 2007 and beyond. For markets outside of North America, the EURO 5 / EEV (Environmentally Enhanced Vehicle) certified ISL G will be introduced in the first quarter of 2008. The C Gas Plus engine certified to EURO 3 and EURO 4, B Gas Plus engine certified to EURO 3 and EURO 5 / EEV, and B Gas International engine certified to EURO 3 will continue to be available in 2007 and beyond. | |
